"Quantum Code Challenge. Innovative Quantum Algorithms for Smart Cities" is the hackathon for solving coding challenges on quantum computing intended for both those with basic knowledge of the subject and those who have already gained experience in the field.
The event, which will be held online Oct. 22-25, 2024, is organized by CRS4, Center for Research, Development and Higher Studies in Sardegna, as part of the Cagliari Digital Lab (DLAB) Program. The Program, with the Municipality of Cagliari as lead partner, aims to create a House of Emerging Technologies (CTE), a center for technological innovation, research and entrepreneurial contamination where ideas and technologies can be tested, with the aim of developing innovative urban services in the areas of sustainable mobility, environmental monitoring, smart energy management and tourism.
Project Goals:
➔ To disseminate knowledge about computational techniques and the kinds of problems it can solve
➔ To encourage the formation of a network of students, professionals and enthusiasts of Quantum Computing to stimulate collaborations and insights on the subject
➔ Foster the resolution of coding challenges on quantum computing, proposed by CRS4, that can support the research and practical experimentation of activities related to the Cagliari project Digital Lab
Recipients
Enrollment is open to the following categories of participants:
● Undergraduate students
● Researchers
● Programmers and developers
● Quantum Computing enthusiasts
How to participate:
Participants will be provided with login credentials to work remotely and solve the coding challenges using the qBraid platform from Oct. 22 to 25.
Participants will have access to the platform from 10 a.m. Oct. 22 until 3 p.m. Oct. 25, the deadline for submission of solutions. Two digital collaboration tools, Discord and Zoom, will also be made available to interact with the organizers and mentors.
Registration for the event is free. To participate, you must fill out the registration form available on the dedicated page, which will be posted in September here ➔ https://www.cagliaridlab.it/
You can register as an individual or as a team consisting of a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 4 people.
